Agents & MCP
The Agents & MCP tab sets up AI-agent site building: it installs the Agent Connector
plugin that lets any MCP agent — Claude, Codex, Gemini, Cursor, and more — connect to
your site, and it controls whether Oxygen's own MCP tools are available to connected
agents. In wp-admin, go to Oxygen → Settings → Agents & MCP.

Agent Connector Plugin
Agents talk to your site through
Agent Connector, a free plugin that
exposes your WordPress site over MCP. This row shows where you stand:
- Not installed — click Install Agent Connector to download the latest release
from GitHub and activate it in one click (your user needs permission to install
plugins). - Inactive — the plugin is installed but not active; click
Activate Agent Connector. - ✓ Active — you're ready. Click Connect to open Agent Connector's own page,
where you connect your agent. Like any plugin, it can be managed or deactivated from
the Plugins page.
For the agent-side setup — adding the connection in Claude, Codex, Cursor, or any other
MCP agent — see Connect Your Agent.
Enable MCP Access
Allow agents to access this site over MCP is checked by default. It controls whether
Oxygen registers its MCP tools — the tools agents use to create pages and templates,
edit the element tree, manage variables and stylesheets, and everything else Oxygen
exposes to agents.
Uncheck it and save to withdraw Oxygen's tools from connected agents without
deactivating Agent Connector itself.
