Getting Started

Install Oxygen

Oxygen installs as a WordPress plugin. Need WordPress? Fire up a local install with npm create oxygen-wp@latest, use our free demo server, or check our recommended hosts.

Install Oxygen as a plugin

1. Download the plugin .zip file

Download it here: oxygenbuilder.com/latest.zip

That link serves the current build of Oxygen. Your browser saves it as a .zip file. There's no need to unzip it.

2. Upload it to WordPress

In wp-admin, go to Plugins → Add Plugin, click Upload Plugin at the top of the
screen, choose the zip you just downloaded, and click Install Now.

WordPress unpacks the package and reports Plugin installed successfully.

3. Activate it

Click Activate Plugin. WordPress returns you to the plugins list, and an Oxygen
item appears at the bottom of the sidebar menu.

Other ways to get Oxygen

Free, hosted demo

oxygenbuilder.com/try creates a free hosted demo site
with Oxygen already installed.

From the customer portal

The customer portal has your license keys and the
downloads page, including past versions if you ever need to install a specific release
rather than the current one.

Create a local site with one command

If you want a WordPress site on your own machine, one command creates the
whole thing. You'll need Node.js and Docker installed for the command to work.

npm create oxygen-wp@latest

Troubleshooting

"The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet."

Oxygen is a plugin, not a theme. Install it in the right place:
Plugins → Add Plugin → Upload Plugin, as in
step 2 above.
