Rich Text

The Rich Text element holds long-form, formatted content — headings, paragraphs, bold
and italic, lists, links, images — edited with the classic WordPress editor. Use it when
the content is a flowing document; use the Text element
for single headings and short runs of text you want to style individually.

Editing the content

The Content tab has a single Text control showing the current content. Click it
and the WordPress editor opens in a dialog:

It's the full classic editor: Visual and Code tabs, Add Media for inserting
images from the media library, and the familiar toolbar — paragraph/heading dropdown,
bold, italic, lists, blockquote, alignment, links. Your changes appear on the canvas
live as you type. Click anywhere outside the dialog to close it.

Unlike the Text element, Rich Text has no in-place editing on the canvas — content is
edited through this dialog.

Hover the Text control and a dynamic data button appears — use it to output
dynamic data such as a post's content or a custom field
instead of fixed text.

HTML tag

By default Rich Text renders as a div. Click the tag in the top-right corner of the
properties panel to change it to article, section, main, aside, details, or
summary, or type any other valid tag.

On the front end

Rich Text renders as one wrapper element (your chosen tag, with a generated per-element
class and the oxy-rich-text class) containing exactly the HTML you authored in the
editor.
