Design Library Overview
The Design Library lets one Oxygen site borrow designs from another. A site that has been
published as a design set exposes its pages and sections — along with the variables and
selectors behind them — and any other Oxygen site can browse that set and pull what it
wants into its own pages.
Nothing is copied by file, and nothing is locked. What arrives on your site is ordinary
Oxygen content: real elements, real classes, real variables, editable exactly like anything
you built yourself.
What a design set is
A design set is just an Oxygen site with one checkbox turned on. Turn it on, and that
site's Oxygen-built pages, posts and Parts become browsable from anywhere, at a single
shareable URL. There is no export file, no package format and no upload step — the design
set is served live by the site that hosts it, so whenever its owner improves a design,
everyone browsing the set sees the new version.
That means you can point at a set someone else publishes, or publish your own — an agency
keeping its house style in one place, or a set you sell. See
Creating a Design Set, and
Sharing & Selling Your Design Set for
handing the URL out, protecting it with a password, or selling access.
Where you use it
There are two separate screens, and they do different jobs.
In the builder, the Add panel's header has a book icon that opens the Design Library.
This is the one you'll use day to day: browse a set, preview any page or section in it at
any breakpoint, and bring designs into the page you're editing. See
Using the Design Library in the Builder.

In wp-admin, under Oxygen → Design Library, sets that offer a full site appear as
cards. Importing one replaces your site's design wholesale — every page, header and footer
from the set, in one step. See
Importing a Full Site.
Your library starts empty
A fresh Oxygen install has no design sets registered, so both screens start out empty. You
fill the library by pasting shareable URLs — one per line — into Custom Design Sets on
the Design Library settings tab. Save, and the set
appears in both places.
One entry is always present without any setup: This Website, your own site. It turns
every page you have already built into a library you can pull from while building the next
one.

The label next to each name says what kind of set it is. UI KIT is a set you browse
piece by piece; COMPLETE SITE is one that also offers the whole-site import.
What comes across
Designs are only half of a design set. The other half is the design system underneath them:
- Variables — the set's colours, fonts, spacing and radii.
- Selectors — the classes its designs are styled with.
A section pulled in from a set is styled by those classes and variables, so importing them
is what makes the design look the way it did in the preview. The Design Library offers them
to you as a single Import Settings step, described in
Using the Design Library in the Builder.
