Empty State

A loop with nothing to show renders nothing at all — no heading, no message, just a gap
where the list would be. The When Empty setting replaces that gap with a Component of
your own.

It sits in the Advanced popout inside Content → Repeated Block, and it works
identically on all three loop elements.

Setting it

Open Advanced (the pencil beside the Advanced row in Repeated Block) and choose a
Component under When Empty. That's the whole control — one dropdown, no position or
frequency, because there is only ever one empty state.

Build the Component like any other: a heading, a line of explanation, maybe a link back
to a fuller listing. It is rendered on its own, in place of the entire list — not once
per missing item.

When it fires

The empty state renders when the loop's own source comes back with nothing:

  • On a Post Loop, when the query matches no posts.
  • On a Term Loop, when the taxonomy returns no terms.
  • On a Repeater Field, when the field has no rows on the
    current item.
