Oxygen 6 RC 1 Is Now Available

This release improves the stacking indicator for Oxygen Components, ships a security fix for Builder Access permissions, and updates Breakdance Elements for Oxygen.

Changelog

Drag‑and‑drop stacking hints now match the actual layout in grids and wrapped sections.
Security fix: users with edit_users could previously modify their own Builder Access permissions.
Breakdance Elements for Oxygen: translated/escaped UI text and small visual fixes for gallery captions, image alt text, dropdown active state, and section buttons.

Security Update

This release fixes a privilege escalation vulnerability where users with the edit_users capability could grant themselves full builder access. WordPress normally reserves edit_users for Administrators, but some plugins can grant it to other roles (for example, WooCommerce Shop Managers).

Update immediately if:

Non‑administrators on your site have edit_users.
You use WooCommerce and have Shop Managers you do not fully trust.
You use plugins that modify or extend user role capabilities.

You are not at immediate risk if only Administrators have edit_users, you have not customized role capabilities, and you do not use plugins that modify or extend user capabilities. We are not aware of this being exploited in the wild.

Road to Oxygen 6.0 Final

We’re targeting Oxygen 6.0 final by January 15 (or earlier) and focusing on polish, bug fixes, and stability. Pricing may change when 6.0 final ships, so current pricing is the last chance at today’s rates.

Here’s what previous betas have introduced:

Beta 1 launched the foundation: a properties panel that maps directly to CSS, CSS Variables for colors, typography, and spacing, reusable Components, the Interactions Engine with hover, click, and scroll triggers, and Dynamic Data integration with real WordPress database content.
Beta 2 introduced Element Studio for creating custom builder elements visually, inline Component editing directly within pages, Masonry layouts for loops, scroll-triggered color animations, and the same-site Design Library.
Beta 3 added the Term Loop Builder for looping through taxonomy terms, a completely redesigned Code Editor with CodeMirror 6, Emmet support, intelligent autocomplete, and a style indicator system showing inherited vs. overridden values.
Beta 4 brought responsive design clarity with inherited values displayed as placeholders, automatic class creation when styling elements, Design Library import dialogs showing asset dependencies, and performance optimizations including PHP caching and minified CSS output.
Beta 5 added new grid alignment icons, inline Text Link editing, CSS variable support for opacity, and fixes Classes font loading plus several other Classes/Components issues
