Design Library

Oxygen’s Design Library helps you build websites quickly by giving you access to pre-designed layouts and elements. With it, you can install complete Design Sets, import pages or sections, or even reuse parts of your own site.

A Design Set is like a starter kit for your website. It is complete with pages, templates, components, variables, selectors, and styles. You can install a complete Design Set, or you can install individual parts of a Design Set as needed.

The Design Library is where you can access all the Design Sets you’ve added to your site. This is great for users who just need a quick site and for agencies who want to have some pre-built designs to jump-start client builds.

Registering a Design Set

To register a Design Set in Oxygen, you’ll need the URL for it. Here are common ways to find the URL for a Design Set:

• Create your own Design Set.
• Install Free Design Sets shared by community members.
• Purchase premium sets crafted by designers.

Once you’ve found a Design Set you love, Oxygen makes it simple to register it in your site. After that, it’s always just a click away in your Design Library—ready whenever inspiration strikes.

1. Copy the URL of the Design Set you’d like to add.
2. In the WordPress Admin area, go to Oxygen > Settings.
3. Click on Design Library
4. In the Custom Design Sets field, paste in the URL for the Design Set you’d like to add.
5. If you’re adding more than one Design Set, paste one URL on each line.

Installing a Design Set

After registering a Design Set, you can install the Registered Design Set by following these steps:

1. In the WordPress Admin area, go to Oxygen → Design Library.
2. Browse the added Design Sets and preview any that interest you.
3. Once you find one you want to use, click Import.
4. Wait for the import to complete.
5. Open Oxygen and start editing your site with the new designs.

Setting the Homepage

After installing a Design Set, you may need to configure your homepage:

1. Go to Settings → Reading in the WordPress Admin area.
2. Under Your homepage displays, select A static page.
3. Choose the page you want to use as your homepage from the dropdown.
   • For most Design Sets, this will be the page titled Home.

Accessing the Design Library in Oxygen

The Design Library isn’t just for importing complete websites—you can also use it to insert pages, sections, or elements into the page or template you’re currently editing.

Adding Elements from the Design Library

1. Open the Oxygen editor.
2. Click + Add in the left panel, then choose Library.
   • You can also press CMD/CTRL + B.
3. Browse the available categories of elements.
4. Select an element and click Add to Page.

Importing a Page from the Design Library

To bring in a full page design:

1. Open the Library inside the Oxygen editor.
2. Browse through the available pages.
3. Click Import Page at the top of the Design Library dialog.

Importing Global Settings

Some Design Sets include Global Settings (such as colors, typography, and spacing).

1. Inside the Design Library dialog, click Import Global Settings if you want to apply them.
2. Be aware: importing these will overwrite your current Global Settings, so importing Global Settings is optional.
