Today we're excited to announce the availability of the first beta of Oxygen 4.3.
Oxygen 4.3 introduces a new accessibility focused menu element called Site Navigation.
The Site Navigation element was built from the ground up with accessibility in mind. All of the appropriate semantic markup, aria attributes, and functionality are included to make sure this element works perfectly for keyboard and screen reader users.
Ease of use was also a huge focus for this element. The Menu and Pro Menu elements, which offer lots of customization options, can take some time to style properly. With the Site Navigation element, we included only the most necessary styling options, and aimed to apply those intelligently across the entire element so that you don't have to change the same properties multiple times.
Once you drop in the Site Navigation element, you can swap a few colors and be on your way.
We expect to collect lots of user feedback on this element, and are excited to continue improving it as we move through the first beta and into the next releases in the cycle. If there are any controls you think are missing, accessibility use-cases that aren't covered, or you would like to see things work differently, make sure to let us know on GitHub.
Oxygen users can find the beta download in the customer portal.
Please note that alpha and beta releases of Oxygen or Oxygen add-ons should not be used in production environments. We do not provide official support for alpha or beta versions of Oxygen or Oxygen add-ons. If you encounter bugs, please report them on GitHub.
