A Special Treat for Breakdance Users: Get Oxygen for Free
Our sister builder, Oxygen, just got a massive upgrade—and as a thank you for supporting Breakdance, we’re giving you full access to Oxygen for free, as long as you have an active, paid Breakdance subscription.
Unlike Breakdance, Oxygen is a developer-first builder designed for those who prefer to work directly with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Instead of pre-built elements, Oxygen generally requires you build everything from the ground up using classes, divs, and custom code. It’s made for developers who want a workflow that closely mirrors hand-coding—but in a visual environment.
As long as you’re subscribed to Breakdance, you can now use both builders at no extra cost.

We know that 90% of you probably aren’t going to use Oxygen, and that’s totally fine! Rest assured, Breakdance will always be fast, intuitive, and free of unnecessary complexity. It will never require technical knowledge like Oxygen, and its core philosophy of delivering professional results without code will not change. We remain fully committed to Breakdance’s future. That means continued updates, new features, performance improvements, and ensuring it remains the most powerful, easy-to-use visual builder for WordPress. But if you ever want to check out Oxygen—whether out of curiosity or for a project where its workflow makes sense—it’s there for you.
More Engineering Resources for Breakdance Than Ever Before
With the launch of the new Oxygen, we’ve made a major behind-the-scenes upgrade: Oxygen and Breakdance now share the same core builder engine, and we’re merging as much of the core builder engine as possible.
One of the biggest benefits of this integration is that the engineering team working on Breakdance and Oxygen has effectively doubled in size.
Previously, we had to maintain two separate cores, which meant every bug fix, optimization, and shared feature had to be implemented twice. Now, we only have one core to maintain (Oxygen Classic users: don’t worry, Oxygen Classic will also be maintained), allowing us to:
- Fix bugs faster—stability and compatibility improvements in Oxygen now come to Breakdance and vice versa.
- Develop new features more efficiently—engineering time is now spent on innovation rather than duplicating work.
- Improve third-party compatibility—plugin and add-on developers now have a single framework to support, making integrations easier.
- Expand the ecosystem—element developers now have twice the demand, increasing the likelihood of more elements coming to Breakdance.
Builders Are Like Icebergs—The Core is the Hard Part
What users see in a visual builder—the UI, the elements, and the settings—is only the tip of the iceberg. Underneath the surface, the real complexity lies in the core: the rendering engine, templating system, dynamic data handling, and the builder canvas itself. These foundational systems determine how fast, stable, and scalable a builder is, and they take significantly more engineering effort than the features you interact with directly.
By merging the core, we’ve eliminated redundant work and can now move significantly faster on the features that users actually care about. Instead of splitting development time between maintaining two separate systems, we can now focus on building new features, refining the UI, and making meaningful improvements to both builders. This means faster updates, better performance, and more innovation for Breakdance.

Rest Assured, Breakdance’s Vision is Not Changing
Now that Breakdance and Oxygen share a core builder engine, you might be wondering if Breakdance itself is going to change. Breakdance will continue to improve, just like it always has, but it will not become more complicated or more technical.
You can rest assured that:
- You will never need to use classes, divs, or custom code.
- The visual workflow that makes Breakdance fast and intuitive will continue to be refined.
- New features will only enhance Breakdance’s ease of use and power—without forcing users to learn technical concepts.
Breakdance is designed to offer the same level of power as any other tool—but without the complexity. Instead of requiring users to manage code, it abstracts away technical details, automates best practices, and ensures that building a professional website is as straightforward as possible. Breakdance will always remain a user-friendly choice for achieving high-quality results without needing to understand HTML, CSS, divs, classes or other technical concepts.
Oxygen Features in Breakdance? Only If They Fit
Some Oxygen features may make their way to Breakdance, but only if they align with its vision. If they do, they will always be optional—not required. Some advanced users may appreciate additional functionality, but those features will be integrated in a way that maintains Breakdance’s intuitive, visual-first experience. Breakdance will continue to evolve, but it will never require you to be a developer. It will always be the fastest, easiest way to build professional WordPress websites without code.
Oxygen is designed for developers who want to work with the fundamentals of web development. Breakdance is built for users who want a streamlined, efficient, and powerful visual builder that does the hard work for them. Both tools are equally powerful, but they approach site building in fundamentally different ways. Sharing a core builder engine just allows us to improve both products faster—without compromising what makes each unique.

Why Are We Giving Oxygen to Breakdance Users for Free?
When we first launched Breakdance in June 2022, we gave all existing Oxygen users a free year of access to Breakdance. Now that Oxygen has been completely rebuilt, it’s only fair to extend a similar offer to Breakdance users.
While Breakdance and Oxygen are designed for different types of users, both are powerful tools with distinct workflows. Most Breakdance users won’t need Oxygen—but for those who are curious, working on a project that might benefit from its approach, or just want to explore it, we want to make it available at no extra cost. This is our way of saying thank you for being part of the Breakdance community.
