It's a difficult area to find jobs and it won't get any easier. It's getting easier and easier to create your own website that looks fantastic, just look at oxygen for example. You need to find something that only you can provide. Just like with type of art. Anybody can pick up some watercolor and make "art" - but you need to be able to make better art 😉 I can't give you much motivation because, to be honest, it doesn't look good for that area of work and where it's going so use your time to build up a unique style.
I feel for you. I went through the same thing (commoditization) in my industry... I am a copywriter. I had to position myself based on expertise, not just writing. Even if people can build their own sites, it does not mean those sites will look good. You also have to go a little further than your competition and become an expert on websites as a marketing device. It requires learning about UX, content organization and most of all... conversions. Get away from making sites to solving business problems. Julie https://freelancewriter.site (in progress being built with Oxygen 2.0)
I am a web developer at a web development company - Tangensys but before this job, I was also jobless and suffered a lot, if you have a skill then you can apply at many freelance portals from there you will definitely get some work.
