Today we are proud to announce the availability of the first alpha of Oxygen 3.4.
Oxygen 3.4 is a feature release focused around two new features: undo/redo and shape dividers.
Undo/redo functionality is (and has been for some time) our most highly requested feature over on GitHub.
In Oxygen 3.4, you can roll back or roll up changes easily within the Oxygen builder using the new undo/redo controls located between the "Structure" button and the "Manage" & "Back to WP" buttons in the top bar.
The history button opens the History pane with a list of all undo/redo nodes that have been recorded, allowing you to quickly traverse your changes if going backward or forward by one step at a time is not sufficient.
Undo/redo nodes are registered for virtually every change made in the builder, including element properties, structural changes, and global settings.
Note that while this feature is fully functional, this is an Alpha release and there are some known issues and needed improvements that will be addressed in the Beta.
Section shape dividers are currently our third most popular feature request on GitHub.
In Oxygen 3.4, you can add one or more Shape Dividers to Sections by clicking the "Add Shape Divider" button the primary tab of the Properties Pane for any Section.
Once the Shape Divider is added, you can choose from 33 built-in SVG shapes or you can paste in your own custom SVGs to use as dividers. Custom SVGs must include the attribute preserveAspectRatio="none" on the SVG element, and any fill attributes must be set to "currentColor", e.g. fill="currentColor". These settings will allow Oxygen's controls to fully manipulate the shape.
Shape Dividers have a full range of controls, including top or bottom positioning, horizontal flipping, horizontal centering, z-index, width, and height controls.
Because Shape Dividers are each an individual element within the Section, you can layer an unlimited number of Shape Dividers to achieve interesting and creative effects. Check out this demo site for an example of Shape Dividers in action.
Existing users can download Oxygen 3.4 alpha 1 from the customer portal.
Please note that alpha and beta releases of Oxygen should not be used on production sites. We do not provide official support for alpha or beta versions of Oxygen. If you encounter bugs, please report them on GitHub.
